Warlock

A warlock seeks out power and secrets of the arcane from powerful magic sources. By making a pact with such an entity, like a devil, or an archfey, they may too learn to draw upon the innate magic of the multiverse as if it were their own.

Pact Magic

1st-level Warlock feature
Your arcane research and the magic bestowed on you by your patron have given you facility with spells. See chapter 10 for the general rules of spellcasting and chapter 11 for the warlock spell list.
Cantrips. You know two cantrips of your choice from the warlock spell list. You learn additional warlock cantrips of your choice at higher levels, as shown in the Cantrips Known column of the Warlock table.
Spell Slots. The Warlock table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your warlock spells of 1st through 5th level. The table also shows what the level of those slots is; all of your spell slots are the same level. To cast one of your warlock spells of 1st level or higher, you must expend a spell slot. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a short rest.
For example, when you are 5th level, you have two 3rd-level spell slots. To cast the 1st-level spell witch bolt, you must spend one of those slots, and you cast it as a 3rd-level spell.
Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher. At 1st level, you know two 1st-level spells of your choice from the warlock spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Warlock table shows when you learn more warlock spells of your choice of 1st level and higher. A spell you choose must be of a level no higher than what's shown in the table's Slot Level column for your level. When you reach 6th level, for example, you learn a new warlock spell, which can be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level.
Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the warlock spells you know and replace it with another spell from the warlock spell list, which also must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
Spellcasting Ability. When you pick the warlock class, you choose either Intelligence or Charisma as your spellcasting ability for your warlock spells.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting ability score
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting ability score
Spellcasting Focus. You can use an arcane focus as a spellcasting focus for your warlock spells.

Eldritch Patron

1st-level Warlock feature
At 1st level, you have struck a bargain with an eldritch being chosen from the list of available patrons. Your choice grants you features at 1st level and again at 6th, 10th, and 14th level.
Fey
Fiend

Patron Damage Type

1st-level Warlock feature
Your choice of eldritch patron provides you with a Patron Damage Type. When you deal damage with a warlock spell or hit with an attack from your pact weapon, you can choose to substitute its normal damage type for your Patron Damage Type.

Eldritch Invocations

2nd-level Warlock feature
In your study of occult lore, you have unearthed eldritch invocations, fragments of forbidden knowledge that imbue you with an abiding magical ability.
You gain two eldritch invocations of your choice. A list of the available options can be found below. When you gain certain warlock levels, you gain additional invocations of your choice, as shown in the Invocations Known column of the Warlock table.
Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the invocations you know and replace it with another invocation that you could learn at that level.
If an eldritch invocation has prerequisites, you must meet them to learn it. You can learn the invocation at the same time that you meet its prerequisites. A level prerequisite refers to your level in this class.

Pact Boon

3rd-level Warlock feature
Your eldritch patron bestows a gift upon you for your loyal service. You gain one of the following features of your choice.

Pact of the Blade

Your eldritch patron has bestowed you with magical control over weapons. You gain the following benefits:
Pact Weapon. You may use a standard action to conjure a simple or martial weapon to serve as your pact weapon, or you may bind a weapon you are holding to you. You may only have one pact weapon at a time.
If you summon or bind a new pact weapon, your previous pact weapon either disappears or ceases to be your pact weapon, if it was summoned or bound respectively.
In addition to summoning and binding a pact weapon, any weapon that you create with a warlock spell, such as shadow blade, is considered your pact weapon.
As a minor action, you may either shunt your pact weapon into a pocket dimension or summon it to your hand.
You may use your pact weapon as an arcane focus.
Eldritch Warrior. When you make an attack with your pact weapon, you may use your spellcasting ability for your attack and damage rolls.
Additionally, you gain proficiency with martial weapons, medium armor, and shields.
Extra Attack. At 5th level, when you take the Attack action on your turn, you may make an additional weapon attack as a free action on the same turn.

Pact of the Tome

Your eldritch patron has bestowed you with a magical book known as your pact tome. You gain the following benefits:
Pact Tome. As a minor action, you may either shunt your pact tome into a pocket dimension or summon it to your hand.
You may use your pact tome as an arcane focus.
Prepared Spells. When you finish a long rest, you may prepare a number of spells from the warlock spell list equal to your spellcasting ability modifier (minimum of 1) by inscribing their names in your tome. You may cast each spell using a warlock spell slot as if you knew the spell, and they do not count against your spells known. These spells may not be of a greater level than your pact magic spell slot level.
A spell which you have inscribed in this way disappears from your tome after you finish a long rest unless you choose to inscribe it again.
Improved Cantrips. When you cast a cantrip, you can add your spellcasting ability (minimum of 1) to any of its damage rolls.
Eldritch Inscriptions. At 5th level, you may cast each of your inscribed spells once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to do so when you inscribe the spell again after finishing a long rest.

Pact of the Chain

Your eldritch patron has bestowed you with a magical servant. You gain the following benefits:
Pact Servant. You may perform a 10 minute ritual and expend a warlock spell slot to summon a Pact Servant. As a minor action, you may either shunt your servant into a pocket dimension or summon it to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. Your servant acts as a companion.
Your servant takes a form depending on your patron. For example, if your patron is a devil, it may appear as an imp.
If your servant is reduced to 0 hit points while it is within 60 feet of you, you may instead cause it to be reduced to 1 hit point and immediately be returned to its pocket dimension as if you had shunted it there yourself.
Servant's Vigor. At 5th level, when your servant takes the Attack action, it may make an additional attack on the same turn as a free action.

Ability Score Improvement

4th-level Warlock feature
You increase one ability score of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 5 using this feature.
You gain additional ability score improvements at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th levels.

Mystic Arcanum

11th-level Warlock feature
Your patron bestows upon you a magical secret called an arcanum. Choose one 6th-level spell from the warlock spell list as this arcanum.
You can cast your arcanum spell once without expending a spell slot. You must finish a long rest before you can do so again.
At higher levels, you gain more warlock spells of your choice that can be cast in this way: one 7th-level spell at 13th level, one 8th-level spell at 15th level, and one 9th-level spell at 17th level. You regain all uses of your Mystic Arcanum when you finish a long rest.

Eldritch Master

20th-level Warlock feature
At 20th level, you can draw on your inner reserve of mystical power while entreating your patron to regain expended spell slots. You can spend 1 minute entreating your patron for aid to regain all your expended spell slots from your Pact Magic feature. Once you regain spell slots with this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can do so again.
