Hobgoblin

Typically viewed as a warlike race, hobgoblins share descent from the Fey with the elves and, more closely, with goblins. Unlike goblins, hobgoblins tend to be more powerful, placing great value on martial prowess and cunning.

Legionary Hobgoblin

Considered by many to be synonymous with "hobgoblins", Legionary Hobgoblins are a warlike race of hobgoblins hailing from the Ur'goz Highlands, where they regularly battle with the orcs for dominance of the region. In recent years, they have begun making advances outward to conquer towns and villages, such as the town of Hillford.

Fey Hobgoblin

Little is known of the Fey Hobglins, save that they have changed little since emerging from the Feywild. Many still guard the primordial forests of the world. Preferring to remain out of sight, they are rarely encountered by travelers.

Characteristics

Hobgoblins are of similar size and build to humans, and age at a comparable rate. The rigorous lifestyle drilled into many from a young age may lead to a high Constitution score. The additional training that Legionary Hobgoblins undergo can produce high Strength or Dexterity scores, while Fey Hobgoblins' deeper connection with nature typically expresses itself in higher Wisdom scores.
Legionary Hobgoblins' predisposes to strictly lawful and orderly alignments, while Fey Hobgoblins tend more towards chaotic alignments.
